'The Ring of Fire' is a volcanic ring around the Pacific Ocean with 452 erupting volcanoes in 2049. This caused earthquakes, tsunamis, deaths, and toxic volcanic gases resulting in acid rain. Despite some smoke signals, there was no warning, and panic was absent as smoke in some places was seen as a ritual. In 2055, the fear of new eruptions persists, and the reconstruction after the catastrophe of 4 years ago is challenging due to ash blockades reducing sunlight and temperatures, leading to a global food shortage.

As humans adapt to the altered nature in 2055, questions arise about the impact on the fashion world. No major production factories are built anymore, and clothing trends adjust to the new reality. While humans protect themselves from the forces of nature, a collection emerges that calls for further research into the unpredictable powers of volcanoes.

'FESF' means smoke in the ancient Italian language spoken during the eruption of Pompeii.
