SOUNDS LIKE JUGGLING
Composer Arthur Wagenaar and juggler Guido van Hout combine forces to let juggling and music melt into something totally new.
Self-built instruments played by juggling, special props that turn juggling into sound. Throwing beats and rhyhms with shakerballs, bodypercussion while juggling, electronics that turn motion into melody. A totally new genre is born.
WARBOEL
A musical juggling performance about connection and loneliness
In WARBOEL, two music jugglers, a singer as well as the audience are challenged to make connections and step out of their bubbles. WARBOEL throws a web of beats and voices, they are coming together, while they are also get tangled up with each other. Together with the audience the players look for contact with ‘the other’. But isn’t ‘the other’ yourself?

ABOUT THE COSTUME
To make the subject of WARBOEL visible in costume I realized that many times in life you are already connected to one another. You do not need to know someone really well and deeply to find a connection. "Together with the audience the players look for contact with ‘the other’. But isn’t ‘the other’ yourself?" With that question in mind - and a short amount of time - I started to rework 3 complete costumes. I cut in blazers, overshirts and pants and connected it to another item. Can you solve the puzzle? You are the other and the other is you.
